So, I'm writing a story set in Argentina (in Corrientes), but I'm having some trouble with use of the word "gringo". From my googling, which wasn't particularly helpful, I saw that it's used in Argentina, but I can't really figure out what connotation is has. Can anybody tell me what "pecho frío" means? Google translate says "chest cold". My minimal knowledge of Spanish leads me to think it's more likely to be "cold chest", but what I'm really after is how is it used? So I've been thinking about testing my Spanish officially... but my problem is that I speak Argentine Spanish, with features such as vos, LL and Y sounding like porteño sh and so on. Me and gooooyaffa were discussing the word 'orange' and it's history, and so we'd like to know how those of you who speak South American varieties of Spanish pronounce the words for orange: the color, the tree, and the fruit.
